Comment on D.C. Court of Appeals Chief Judge Blackburne-Rigsby’s Application for Redesignation

The D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission is inviting comment on the qualifications and fitness of D.C. Court of Appeals Chief Judge Anna Blackburne-Rigsby, who is seeking redesignation to a four-year term beginning March 17, 2025. Blackburne-Rigsby is the sole candidate for designation as chief judge.

Members of the bench, bar, and general public may submit comments by mail to D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission, 515 Fifth Street NW, Suite 235, Washington, DC 20001 or by email to [email protected]. Comments may also be submitted through an online survey available on the commission’s website or by using the direct link. The deadline is January 3.

On November 13 the District of Columbia Court of Appeals announced that it will adopt amendments to Rule 49 proposed by the court’s Committee on Unauthorized Practice of Law early this year.
